Frequently Asked Questions
Got a question about the best way to cook, prepare and store your favourite Quorn® products?
Well, who could be better to ask than the experts themselves?
Our Quorn chefs have answered all of your more frequently asked questions with simple, inspiring, and easy-to-follow tips.
At Quorn, we have a vision to make the world’s diets healthier and more sustainable, so we don’t start where everybody else does when it comes to protein production. Rather than using livestock, we take a natural nutritious fungus from the soil and ferment it to produce a dough called mycoprotein. It’s high in protein, high in fibre, low in saturated fat, and contains no cholesterol. And because producing mycoprotein requires less land and water than producing animal proteins, mycoprotein has a 90% lower carbon footprint, so it’s better for our planet. Mycoprotein is used as an ingredient in all Quorn products, which is why Quorn offers Sustainable Nutrition - enabling you to make loads of great tasting meals, in a way that’s better for our planet.
Quorn products are currently available in the UK, USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Philippines, Germany, Thailand and Singapore.
There are currently over 10 Quorn products available in Singapore - Mince, Pieces, Swedish Style Balls, Crispy Nuggets, Southern Fried Bites, Sausage Patties, Burgers, Southern Fried Burgers, Creamy Garlic & Mushroom Escalopes, Vegan Breaded Fillets & Vegan Hot & Spicy Burgers. We will be launching more Quorn products in Singapore in the near future, so watch this space for new products updates.
Quorn products, including Quorn’s Vegan range, that are available to purchase have not been involved with animal studies. The Quorn Vegan range has now been accredited with the Vegan Trademark by the Vegan Society, and the respective products will have the Vegan Society logo added to the back of pack.
Quorn and Quorn’s Vegan range contain an ingredient called mycoprotein. Mycoprotein was developed in 1968 and in order to satisfy the requirements of US and UK regulators that mycoprotein was safe for human consumption, a series of animal feeding trials were requested to be carried out by regulatory bodies. Since 1995 there have been no further requirements for such trials and Monde Nissin, Quorn’s new owner, is committed to ensuring no additional work will be carried out for the mycoprotein ingredient. Indeed the CEO of Monde Nissin, Henry Soesanto, is himself a Vegan.
Unfortunately, we cannot influence any individual stores to stock our products. Instead, we can only make recommendations to each Head Office that they do so. If you continue having difficulty in obtaining Quorn products we suggest that you contact the manager at your local store and make your request to them directly.
We're proud to say that our product range in the UK uses free range eggs.
